End of an Era!!
It was with great sadness this photo was taken as it marked the end of such an important & remarkable buildings life.
Through the years it has been used as the main stores for the RAF where the trains came in to the building and were then unloaded with goods then distributed not only locally with in the base itself but nationally aswell. It stored materials used for Royal visits and had a 'Silver polishing shop'that at one time was used to prepare the cutlery used by the Queen.
This was where it all started for GTE™ and was an excellent facility to manufacture roof trusses and timber frame homes from as the floors were perfectly level - The Civil Service certainly don't settle for second best & neither do GTE™!!
Thankyou Unit 1 H.Q. Site, Quedgeley for giving GTE™ such a 'flying' start in business - Gone but not forgotten.
